Guess where I went today? No prizes though.. haha. You're right! Singapore Zoological Gardens!
It's a dream come true. Or rather, we've been talking about it for such a long time, now we finally got there. so yea man~ and that's not my hand up there. haha.
Me and Evelyn met Linda and Rebecca on the bus.. haha. So this is us at the bus stop outside the zoo, all ready to go.
This is evelyn and rizah. We were waiting at the entrance and we saw these two little kids sitting on that hippo. So bored us went to take a photo too. haha
These are the free range orang utans. They were swinging around in the tree..
Oh, either it's just cause we're all girls or because we're from OT, we're easily facinated. haha. We spent at least 10 minutes looking at the orang utans swing around. Armed with our digicams of course.
Oh ya, and I think the animals in the zoo are so used to being photographed, they have learnt how to pose for photos. Like this emu to my right. The emu turned towards my cam after my friend beside me was done with hers.
These two Baboons to the left didnt move much. So much so that
evelyn: " are they real? fake one isit?"
Fiona: no they're real..
Evelyn: "but they arent moving, not even breathing"
Me: Ya hor ( i was seriously doubting my initial stand that these baboons were real)
Much to eveyone's relief, the baboon on the left moved his arm to scratch. and moved back to the original position.
Evelyn: Maybe they are watching TV.
Lols.
Fun fact about elephants : they are light-footed despite being large because they walk on tip-toe!
Below is a picture of how small(yays!) my feet are compared to a elephant. However, I'm not light-footed at all. =X
That's Fiona and me.. haha. Told you my classmates were pretty. =)
I think it's quite alarming what we do to other living creatures. If you can't make out the words, Those "ear rings" are hooked to the ears of the elephant to control them.
Then there's the girth harness. It's rope really. But it rubs against the elephant skin causing bruises.
Then we also have the ear hook, which is placed behind the elephant ears to control em.
One last fact about the elephant that I didnt know. The Ivory husk of the elephant is made of hair. Oh ya. You saw it right. Poachers have been killing elephants by removing their tusks cause ivory is valued. It's just hair for goodness sakes! What medicinal value do those tusks have too? You can try eating your own hair. i better post this before it all gets lost.

Although the fig tree shall not blossom
neither shall fruit be in the vines;
the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat;
the flock shall be cut off from the fold,
and there shall be no herd in the stalls:
Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will rejoice in the God of my salvation.
Habakkuk 3:17-18
This lullaby is only a few words
A simple run of chords
Quiet here in this spare room
But you can hear it, hear it
Wherever you may go
I will let you down
But this lullaby plays on
